Calves in Summer Pasture
I took the Holstein and Holstein Angus cross cattle out to the grass pasture on a beautiful summer day. The herd consisted of a variety of breeds, including Holsteins and Holstein Angus crosses. As the cows munched on the lush green grass, they seemed to be in a state of pure contentment. Their bellies were full and their spirits were high as they enjoyed the freedom and wide open spaces of the pasture.
The calves grazed and chased each other around. They seemed to be having the time of their lives, full of energy and curiosity.
As the sun began to set, I herded the cows back to the barn. They walked in single file, their hooves pounding against the ground in a rhythmic cadence.
Once we reached the barn, I gave each cow a pat on the head and a quiet word of thanks. It had been a good day, and I knew that the cows would be well-rested and ready for another day of grazing on the grass pasture.
